CORE BEERS
Core beers are the beers that define who we are and what we brew. Makers of Beer Flavoured Beer isn't just a catchy tagline (even though it is), it is a philosophy we have that beer tastes great being just beer. Sure the flavoured stuff can be tasty, but shouldn't a brewery stand on the fact that it makes quality and tasteful classic beers first? Make good beer first, do mad science later. Here are the 5 core beers we make for those who love....beer.

Dastardly Illustrators & Artists Bolstering Original Local Imagery & Crafting Artful Labels (D.I.A.B.O.L.I.C.A.L.)
Art on beer labels is not a new idea. It is however, a great idea and a great vehicle to support local art and artists. At Dastardly Villain we want to create new and interesting beers, and to produce some limited edition beers each year.

Featured here are our current and past limited edition beer labels. These and each forthcoming seasonal beer release will feature art by a different local artist. An amount of the proceeds from each can sold will go directly to the artist. As an artist of sorts myself, I've always been a supporter of art, so I'm super excited to start this project.
Are you an artist? Or do you know one who might be interested? Contact us and we'll review your art and consider a commission for a future beer label

A Necessary Evil
I.P.A.
(Wait....I saw this beer up with core beers above - what gives...you Dastardly Villains....)

It's true. (And see how we could read your mind through the web interface?) A Necessary Evil started as a seasonal beer, and got bumped up to core beer status, so it is represented here and there. Just like the marketing robots said it should be.

Anyways...IPA, the beer name synonymous with the craft beer movement. Go into any microbrewery taproom and usually the first beer on the menu is an IPA, and there will be more than one of them. There are so many variants of IPA in the beer world today - such as: New England IPA, West Coast IPA, No Coast IPA, Belgian IPA, American, Black, Brown, Red, Rye, White, English, Double, Triple, Quadruple, Brut, Milkshake, Imperial, Session, Sour, Fruited, Wet Hop, Dry Hop, and even Argentinian IPAs. But lets get back to basics. The first beer we should have created should have been a classic IPA. After all, it is a necessary evil to have in one's craft beer portfolio.....(update: and now it is!)

Indulge in our Classic IPA, a cacophony of Chinook, Centennial, Amarillo, and Strata hops. Teeming with citrus, pine, and tropical fruit notes, balanced by a sturdy malt backbone. This brew strikes a perfect balance between hoppy intensity and drinkability. Pouring a deep yellow/gold, crowned by a frothy head, it beckons with an enticing aromas of citrus, pine, and tropical fruits. Mmmmmmm....embrace the bold flavors. Embrace the Evil!

Doctor P.D. McDastardly is back! To bring about a new world order, you must first tear down the old one. And what better way to do that than with a giant multilimbed robotic Mechazilla! This is the essence of what is truly A Necessary Evil. A bold beer for a bold plan! After all, World Domination isn’t for the meek.

The Evil Dr. Franc-N-Blanc
French Blanc
Evil Doctoring! It's a tradition that goes back to the time of creepy old castles and hunchbacks. Since Igor threw the first level and the monster rose to life, the collective will of mad scientists across the globe has been focused on making bigger, better, eviler inventions! And then came along The Evil Dr. Franc-N-Blanc!
Our second seasonal is a French Blanche, a virtual clone of the Belgian Witbier. Indulge in the allure of a hazy wheat beer with aromas of zesty citrus and a touch of spices. Planet Smasher
Pale Ale
It was a great plan......threaten the world leaders into a grand extortion scheme by smashing an asteroid into the earth. Yes our Trajectory Re-aligning Asteroid Deviator (T.R.A.D.) was working fine.....until N.A.S.A. went and ruined everything with their Double Asteroid Redirection Test (D.A.R.T.) program, and pushing it off course. Damned scientists! I'll get you N.A.S.A.!!!
This beer is a S.M.A.S.H. brew, meaning Single Malt and Single Hop. It is a fun way to play with a limited number of ingredients to really see what they do. When you taste the malt and hop profiles here, you know that you're tasting only one malt, and only one hop. Beer minimalism.
Using Gambrinus ESB malt gives this beer a unique British flavour, with robust bread, grain and cereal flavours with notes of honey and a mild nuttiness. The Comet hop is zesty with grapefruit and tangerine, but is backed by some unique grassy and herbal elements. Some brewers describe Comet's unique aroma as "Wild American"
